Condos are popping up everywhere in the city and now even in the vocation destination in the suburbs of Ontario. Not only those whom their kids have grown up and want to down-size go to condos, but the singles, the newly married and those with extra money who buy condos for their vocation time.

All of these condos need to be furnished. But not with huge and bulky looking, mansion style pieces of furniture. Trend is now Contemporary, Contemporary and Contemporary. Some importers have been smart to notice this huge need, but some are still sleeping and they have no clue as to what consumers really want. They are ancient school, and stick to that traditional line they have carried for many years.

Condo owners are buying cute, small, functional and contemporary furniture. They want simplicity married with style. And yes, size does matter, but in the reverse way. People are looking for something unique that will do a few things at the same time. For example Berkshire Furniture, Philmore Drinks Bar- can’t keep in stock-has many purposes. In a small condo it can serve as a pub table, storage for your wine bottles, a game table and best of all as main eating area. Zoey chair is a very hot seller. Their Bayview bedroom collection, it is perfect for condos. The beds are available from Single to King and all with timeless style and not so bulky features.

Berkshire Furniture has gone even the extra mile to make catalogs and galleries called Condo Size Furniture where you can find everything Condo. Well done Berkshire Furniture.

There are few cities in the United States that are as welcoming to horses and their owners as Dallas. The variety of boarding facilities, training opportunities, horse shows and rodeos all make Dallas one of the most horse-friendly places around.

One example of the excellence in Dallas is the Park Lane Equestrian Center. This is hard to believe, but part of the facility called the Park Lane Ranch includes over 18,000 square feet of climate-controlled riding space! There is just as much outdoors as well, but with that kind of opportunity available to you, you can ride all year long! Making sure that their space appeals to everyone in the family, the center also offers volleyball, softball, golf, a driving range and a petting zoo. Some of the other local boarding stables include Rocking M Stables, the Jo Labec Riding Stables and the White Rock Stables. If you delight in polo, the Dallas Polo Club hosts a variety of events every year.

There are also plenty of chances to buy horses as well. The Chappie Stout Horse Sales, Quality Thoroughbred, Caballistas Equine Solutions and Mesquite Horse Sale are just a few of the better known breeders. Other facilities that offer several annual shows include the Las Colinas Equestrian Center. The Dallas Hunter Jumper Show and the Dallas Harvest Horse Show are exceptional because all proceeds go to providing therapeutic riding to disabled children and adults in the community. Some of these organizations include Riding Unlimited and Equest.

Texas was Made for Rodeos

Believe it or not, there is a huge rodeo that happens just fifteen minutes outside of the downtown area. The Mesquite Rodeo has bull riding, calf roping and barrel racing. If you head over to Fort Worth you can attend the Cowtown Coliseum, which is home to the very first indoor rodeo. The nice thing about this rodeo is that they have one every week, which means that your family can regularly delight in the excitement of attending a rodeo. If you want to attend one of the largest rodeos in Texas, you can go to the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. This event has hundreds of contestants and performers and really is something to see. This is such a large event that there is also a parade that goes to the downtown area of Fort Worth as well as other types of activities that are all meant to embrace the heritage of Texas.

Fort Worth is also home to plenty of boarding stables, such as the Cartwright Ranch and Stables, the Curragh Equestrian Center, the Rafter P Bar Ranch and Rodeo, the Eagle Mountain Equestrian Center, the M Terry Stables and the Silver Creak Ranch. In exceptional facilities like these, you can rest simple knowing that your horses are well cared for.

Be Around Others Who Share Your Interests

An fascinating way to getaway and experience the Texas wilderness is to visit one of the dude ranches in this area. This is a fantastic way to see history come to life. There is horseback riding in addition to other forms of entertainment. Some of the better-known dude ranches include the Austin Ranch, Beaumont Ranch, the Bill Bates Cowboy Ranch and Brentlinger Farm. Both Dallas and Fort Worth have stayed right to their equestrian heritage and have kept traditions like rodeos, ranches, stables and horse farms alive and well. The best was to see Texas is still on horseback.

It’s fun to buy pint-sized furniture designed to be at the perfect height for youngsters and toddlers, but before you head out shopping, make sure that the furniture you’re buying is safe for your child to use. There are more accident waiting to happen than many parents realize, and even furniture for kids can have its drawbacks. Here are some things to look for when considering which furniture for your child is best to buy:

Choose wood over plastic. Plastic furniture isn’t going to last through rough play over the years or withstand the test of time. Kids are hard on their furniture. Not only that, while molded plastic may seem a excellent way to go for the budget conscious parent, plastic furniture tends to fade and doesn’t clean well. Colors are often aimed at narrow age groups and are decorated with stickers that peel off, leaving a blemished, worn look. Also, certain plastic items don’t have excellent stability, such as cheap plastic chairs that tip over easily. Wood offers a sturdier alternative that is simple to clean and care for, as well as being attractive to children of all ages.

Choose furniture that retains its value. Pressed wood furniture or MDF constructions don’t retain their buy value well at all. These types of furniture are simple on the wallet, but they certainly won’t last the test of time to be passed down to your children’s children. Solid wood furniture retains its value and sometimes can even increase in value. Also, the sentimental nostalgia that adults end up having for their childhood furniture is nearly always for the well-crafted and better quality of construction. How many of you fondly remember a pressed wood bookcase?

Choose heavier furniture over light. Light furniture is tippy and can fall over onto a small mountain climber practicing his or her skills. Make sure the furniture you choose is stable and solid. Test it by pushing to see if you can tip it over or pull on it to see if you can make it fall. Also, if you buy furniture with drawers, pull them out as far as they go to know whether safety stoppers have been installed. Otherwise, the drawer will come right out of the dresser, which can hurt young children.

Choose stylish furniture that isn’t based on a current cartoon favorite or with questionable color schemes. Many marketers cash in on the craze to have the latest cartoon favorite’s clothing, movies, music, toys, dishes… nearly anything you can reckon of is prone to being stamped with a cartoon figure’s face and sold to parents who want to provide children with something they recognize. When the cartoon character fades from favor, so do the toys and furniture. Stylish furniture that has classic appeal built to last for years is a far better choice. After all, you don’t want to have to replace furniture every year because trends have changed!

Choose furniture your child fits into. A child’s bed is better than an adult one the toddler will grow into. A chair the child can easily sit on without having to struggle to climb is a better choice. Bookcases with shelves the child can reach or a vanity set built to be at the right height are smart decisions.

The experience of guilt is an enormous burden. People really feel guilty for feeling guilty. Often, those in the religious community are prone to complain about guilt. They perceive God as the ‘cop in the sky’ who is looking to apply retribution. Adults who were the products of poor parenting are more susceptible to real guilt and viewing God is a tyrannical figure.

Unfortunately, people may doubt their salvation, feel like God has abandoned them and immerse themselves in obsessing over minor infractions.

It is my opinion that we need to kick out any God that would make us feel small. A loving God cherishes His children, forgives them and elevates them in His eyes. We are His kings and queens, and we need to stand tall in His presence.

Real guilt can be defined as missing the mark. We fall small of our convictions and need to make amends. We do this by accepting the forgiveness that is already our inheritance, forgiving ourselves for being less than perfect and reconciling with those we have hurt and disappointed.

An fascinating example of real guilt is when we fail to live up to our capacity. We may have been sitting on a goal or dream and place it off because we are too bone idle or worried to act on it. Addressing our right guilt makes us feel complete. We restore our integrity and bring healing to our significant relationships.

Those who have experienced negative parenting may find the concept of forgiveness perplexing. If one’s parents were punitive, critical and unloving, it makes it more hard for people to grasp the concept of a loving, forgiving God. Intellectually, they may know forgiveness, but emotionally they may remain immobilised with self-blame. God does not want His children to victim-posture. We can’t be ambassadors of the excellent news if we are stuck in a sinkhole. Accepting forgiveness is our right and responsibility. Some may need help in processing this truth – God is patient.

It is vital to differentiate real guilt from fake guilt. Much of the guilt we experience is fake. It has nothing to do with falling small of our convictions. I define fake guilt as allowing other people to have power over us. Due to inadequate parenting, many of us learn to give our power away.

As children, we become overly-compliant, passive-aggressive and we learn that it is in our best interest to thwart our rage. If we were raised in dysfunctional families, there was generally no dialogue or exploration of feelings at home. It is vital to know that what happened was never our fault.

When people tell me that they feel guilty, the problem usually involves fake guilt over core childhood issues such as feelings of abandonment, acting overly-responsible, childhood abuse, and lack of confidence. Fake guilt is really a form of disguised resentment. If others over-control our lives, we resent the intrusion, but find fake guilt simpler to accept than rage.

Roberta came to me and complained about her daughter. Whenever she would visit her, she would feel demeaned and manipulated. I suggested that Roberta set limits and cut back on her lengthy out-of-town visitations with her daughter. But, her daughter pleaded with Roberta to stay longer, and the fake guilt emerged.

Roberta chose to stay for the typical two-week visit and she felt miserable. In typical fashion, her daughter merely used her as a babysitter for her kids. Roberta was really mad, but it was masked as fake guilt. As a child, she was never allowed to express her rage appropriately. Roberta had no foundation for setting boundaries and sticking up for herself. She acquiesced to the needs of others and felt small.

Unresolved issues can affect our concept of God. If we fail to find balance in our life by resolving core childhood issues, they may rear their hideous head and affect our spiritual well-being. I believe that God wants us to be integrated. That means we don’t pretend by ignoring the dusty corners of our inner life. As author M Scott Peck once said, “I’m not okay, you’re not okay, but it’s okay!” We must learn to live authentically as imperfect human beings.

Real or fake guilt can immobilise us. As a child of God, there is no need to be saddled with guilt. Guilt keeps us mired in a cycle of self-defeating thinking and behaviour. To my knowledge, no one has ever changed by motivating themselves through guilt.

With right guilt, learning to forgive ourselves, making amends and accepting God’s grace brings healing that helps us go forward. Fake guilt, which comprises the majority of guilt, must prompt us to learn to become assertive, set appropriate boundaries, and find empowerment through the kind of righteous rage that is self-supportive.

Do you feel guilty about feeling guilty? The excellent news is that God wants to elevate you out of your guilt-induced self-defeating cycle of self-blame and help you to become whole.
