Entry from: Adelaide, Australia Entry Title: “Day 74 – Adelaide (Barossa Valley Tour)” Entry: “This morning we headed up into the hills towards the Barossa Valley. The hills are quite dry as you head up them but were getting greener by the time we pulled up at Cuddly Creek for some breakfast at a lovely small cafe. It was bacon & eggs all round and a coffee to wash it down – yum. We stopped off at The Toy Factory where you can find the giant Rocking Horse. Then it was on to the vineyards. All up we stopped off at around 8 or 9 different locations including, Peter Lieman’s, Yalumba, Jacob’s Creek, 2 Hands, Seppetsfield and Wolf Blass. The landscaping and gardens around most of the wineries are really fantastic. Roses are a common flower to be found in these parts and the wineries are no exception with gorgeous displays. Jan and Brian did most of the tasting as Jenny was driving and Greg seems to have developed an aversion to wine so he is sticking to beer tasting. The beer was a bit scarce for obvious reasons but we did manage to find a local brew at Seppetsfield which wasn’t too terrible. We stopped for a late lunch along the way at Anguston and got back in the evening. All in all a really fascinating day and we really appreciated Brian and Jenny’s efforts in showing us as many of the highlights of the …
